Planetary Scientist Elizabeth Bailey
Welcome to my website. My goal is to understand solar system formation and habitability using two complimentary approaches:
(1) Developing theoretical approaches to explore the interior, orbital, and geochemical evolution of worlds, and
(2) X-ray spectroscopic techniques to reveal the redox histories of planetary bodies as recorded in carbonates, a type of minerals that often form where liquid water made its mark. That includes not just Earth's oceans, but also the primitive meteorites left over from planet formation.
Currently, I am a Heising-Simons Foundation 51 Pegasi b Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of California, Santa Cruz.
